Royal Institute International School proudly hosted the Headboard Investiture Ceremony for 2024/2025 on October 25th at the RIC Auditorium, celebrating leadership, achievement, and holistic growth. This event marked the formal induction of student leaders, reflecting the school’s dedication to nurturing well-rounded individuals.
The ceremony, held from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, was graced by the presence of Chairman Mr. G.T. Bandara, Academic Director Dr. Nirodha Bandara, and guest speaker Mr. Nadun Nirmala, a distinguished past pupil who studied at the Nugegoda and Maharagama branches.
The ceremony, attended by principals, vice principals, senior prefects, teachers and parents, highlighted the conferring of badges to Head Prefects, Deputy Head Prefects, Games Captains, and Deputy Games Captains by Chairman Mr. G.T. Bandara and Dr. Nirodha Bandara, marking a moment of honor for the students.
Leadership positions at Royal Institute International School are awarded to students who excel not only academically but also in extracurricular pursuits, embodying the school’s commitment to developing multi-talented individuals. This year’s Head Prefects exemplify these qualities.
From the Maharagama branch, Head Prefect Jinuki Elvitigala achieved 5A and 3A* in Cambridge O/Ls and 3A at AS Level. She is an active Press Club member, content writer, video editor, and Performance Club participant. Jinuki also completed a two-year organ course, won prizes in English Day, represented her branch in RIMUN, and earned CALSDA honors. Her involvement in the Interact Club highlights the school’s focus on nurturing well-rounded leaders.
Representing the Havelock Town branch, Head Prefect Vimukthi Gajanayake excelled with 8A and 1C at GCE O/L and achieved 2C and 2D at Edexcel AS Level in the Bio Stream, while Head Prefect Thiseni Thenujana secured 7A, 1B, and 1C at GCE O/L and 2A and 1B at Edexcel AS Level in the Commerce Stream.
