Nugegoda Branch

Renowned for its outstanding achievements in both national and international arenas of education, Royal Institute International School, Nugegoda Branch was established in 1993. At its inception, the school was headed by Mr. G. T. Bandara as the Founding Principal with 9 teachers on the staff; 45 students were enrolled in grades 1 to 6.

Today, it caters to thousands of learners from Lower Nursery to Advanced Level. Students are prepared for National GCE Ordinary Level and Advanced Level examinations, and for Cambridge Ordinary Level, Advanced Subsidiary Level and Advanced Level examinations. Presently, under the guidance of Mr. Jayalal Lokupathirage, the Principal, around 200 committed academics take pride in producing charismatic individuals year after year.

I am proud and fortunate to be a part of such an amazing, close-knit school community; it is an honour to serve those who serve. These are the hallmarks of the 67 strong and dynamic prefects of the Nugegoda branch. We are not a team because we work together, we are a family because we inspire each other, care for each other and stick together!Their service to the school and community is a stepping stone for them to become the finest leaders. The role of prefect brings out the leadership qualities in RI pupils for higher responsibilities in the future.
