On Sunday, March 16th, 2025, the RI Dhamma School marked a historic milestone by hosting its first-ever assembly. The event, attended by devoted parents, showcased the talents and wisdom of the students. The noble students of Grades 4 and above, along with their peers from the Noble International School at Jethavanarama Buddhist Monastery, delivered speeches on true happiness, humanity, the first human right and freedom of choice; recited poems, and enacted the Vessanthara Jathaka Tale. Their performances, guided by the esteemed monks, conveyed invaluable moral lessons to their younger dhamma school brothers and sisters. A heartfelt testimonial from a parent expressed deep gratitude for the school’s service in shaping young minds with ethical and moral values.
The assembly concluded with words of encouragement from the heads of the dhamma school, Ven. Nimaladhamma Thero and Ms. Piumi Virajika, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and self-discipline. This was followed by the sacred offering of alms and pirikara by teachers, students, and parents to the Mahā Sangha, symbolizing their respect and gratitude. This remarkable event set a strong foundation for future assemblies, reinforcing the school’s commitment to nurturing wisdom, compassion, and unity within the community.
