The national flag is hoisted and the national anthem sung, the traditional lamp is lit and the processions have begun! Sri Lanka celebrates the achievement of her independence from Colonial Rule with the spirit of patriotism resonating in every street corner.
The students of Royal Institute International School celebrated the 74th Independence Day of Sri Lanka by paying tribute to their motherland. The commitment, bravery, national unity and determination to achieve peace were recollected in the minds of our children in the form of songs, dances, speeches, dramas presentations and artwork. Through these items, a reflection of the pride of being a Sri Lankan was felt and a wave of patriotism washed over Royal Institute upholding our unwavering loyalty to our motherland.
